Your Role in the Chain of Survival

The chain of survival is a key set of actions that need to be done to improve success rates in resuscitation. As a trained responder you are responsible for the first three actions of the chain of survival. They are:

1. Recognize cardiac arrest and phone for help
2. Early CPR
3. Rapid defibrillation
